Clare Water Safety, exists to plan, promote & implement water safety activities in County Clare.
These activities include Water Safety classes, training of Beach & Pool Lifeguards, Instructors, Examiners, Cardiac First Responders, Rescue boat crew, Voluntary Surf Rescue Personnel & Surf Lifesaving competitors.

Services Provided:
The promotion of public awareness of water safety.
The promotion of measures, including the advancement of education, related to the prevention of accidents in the aquatic environment.
The provision of istruction in water safety, swimming, water rescue and Basic Life Support.
Organisation and implementation of an annual water safety programme for the area and other such services relating to the promotion of water safety as the Council may from time time require or approve.

Summer Weeks 2023
(updated 21 May 2023) Registrations are opening one location at a time We will advertise here, on our FaceBook & Instagram when they are. Miltown Malbay will register online only and this is now open on the Miltown page. Almost all weeks are 5 days with the Exam on the Friday in almost all cases. To help you find the most suitable class for your child please read our course descriptions here >>  WSI Safety, Rescue, Basic Life Support >> - normally a candidate who can swim will do Safety 2 at 10 yrs or so, then one classes per year after that ( Safety 3, 4, Survival/ Endurance, Rescue 1, Rescue 2 etc).

Water Safety Ireland have condensed 15 swim certificates down to 10. Marlin 10 will now be Marlin 8, the highest swim cert we will offer at open water locations.
